Into a 50-mL 3-necked round-bottom flask, was placed a solution of tert-butyl 4-(1-(3-(methylthio)-1-phenyl-1H-indazol-6-yl)azetidin-3-yl)piperazine-1-carboxylate (100 mg, 0.21 mmol, 1.00 equiv) in dichloromethane (20 mL). To the resulting mixture, HCl (g) was introduced at 0-5° C. The resulting solution was stirred for 1 h at room temperature. The solids were collected by filtration to yield 3-(methylthio)-1-phenyl-6-(3-(piperazin-1-yl)azetidin-1-yl)-1H-indazole hydrochloride as a white solid.
