Into a 50-mL 3-necked round-bottom flask, was placed a solution of tert-butyl 3-(1-(3-(methylthio)-1-phenyl-1H-indazol-6-yl)piperazine-4-carbonyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate (80 mg, 0.15 mmol, 1.00 equiv) in dichloromethane (10 mL). To the resulting mixture, HCl (g) was introduced at 0-5° C. The resulting solution was stirred for 1 h at room temperature. The solids were collected by filtration, then washed with diethyl ether (3×10 mL) to yield (4-(3-(methylthio)-1-phenyl-1H-indazol-6-yl)piperazin-1-yl)(piperidin-3-yl)methanone hydrochloride as a yellow solid.
