Procedure
The product of Example E (2.2 g, 0.01 mole) was dissolved in THF (50 mls) and cooled under argon to 0° C. Lithium tri-t-butoxyaluminum hydride (2.7 g) was added portionwise over 1/2 hour at 0° C. and stirred for 2 hours at 0° C. The mixture was allowed to stir a total of 4 hours until thin layer chromatography indicated the reaction was complete. The mixture was then poured into 0.5N KHSO4 and extracted with ethyl acetate. After drying the organic layer over Na2SO4, the solvent was removed to give 2.2 g of title compound (97% yield) as an oil.
