Trifluoroacetic acid (1.5 mL) was added to a solution of tert-butyl (3R)-3-{2-(5-chloro-6-methoxypyridin-2-yl)-2-[4-(cyclopropylsulfanyl)phenyl]ethenyl}pyrrolidine-1-carboxylate (EZ mixture) (296 mg) in dichloromethane (3 mL) under ice-cooling, followed by stirring for three hours. The reaction solution was concentrated under reduced pressure to give 3-chloro-6-{1-[4-(cyclopropylsulfanyl)phenyl]-2-[(3R)-pyrrolidin-3-yl]ethenyl}-2-methoxypyridine (EZ mixture) as a crude product (235 mg).
