Procedure

1-((6-cyclopentylpyridin-2-yl)methyl)-3-methyl-4-nitro-1H-indazole (0.470 g, 1.40 mmol) was dissolved in 14 mL of methanol. To this solution was added 20% Pd(OH)2 (0.470 g, 50% water content) and the reaction mixture was stirred under a hydrogen balloon for 2 hours. This mixture was filtered through GF/F filter paper and the filtrate was concentrated to 0.340 g (79%) of the title compound.
