To a solution of ethyl 3-(5-((6-(2,2-dimethylpropyl)-5-(2-fluoro-5-methoxyphenyl)pyridin-2-yl)methoxy)-2-methylphenyl)propanoate (427 mg) in methanol (4.0 mL) was added 1N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (8.6 mL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 15 hr. 1N Hydrochloric acid was added to the reaction mixture to adjust to pH<4, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was washed with saturated brine, and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure to give the title compound (275 mg) as a white solid.
