Reaction Steps

To a solution of 3-(3-((6-(2,2-dimethylpropyl)-5-(2-fluoro-5-methoxyphenyl)pyridin-2-yl)methoxy)-5-methylphenyl)propanoic acid (259 mg) in methanol (5.0 mL) was added sodium methoxide (29 mg) at room temperature, and the mixture was stirred for 1 hr. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was washed with hexane, and dried to give the title compound (147 mg) as a white solid.
