Under a nitrogen atmosphere, to a solution of (6-(2-fluoro-5-methoxyphenyl)-5-isobutoxy-2-methoxypyridin-3-yl)methanol (94 mg) and methyl 3-cyclopropyl-3-(3-hydroxyphenyl)propanoate (62 mg) in toluene (4.0 mL) were added 1,1′-(azodicarbonyl)dipiperidine (113 mg) and tributylphosphine (112 μL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 14 hr. Hexane/ethyl acetate (1:1) was added to the reaction mixture, and the resulting precipitate was filtered off. The solvent in the filtrate was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate/hexane) to give the title compound (120 mg) as a colorless oil.
