(S)-tert-Butyl 2-(2-isopropoxy-9H-pyrimido[4,5-b]indol-6-yl)morpholine-4-carboxylate (11 mg, 0.027 mmol) was dissolved in dioxane (0.5 ml) and a solution of HCl in dioxane (4M, 0.08 ml, 0.32 mmol) was added. The reaction mixture was stirred for 1 h at 60° C. After cooling ether (1 ml) was added and the solid was filtered off. It was washed with ether and dried in vacuo to afford (S)-2-(2-isopropoxy-9H-pyrimido[4,5-b]indol-6-yl)morpholine hydrochloride (6 mg, 64%) as an off-white solid. MS (ISP): 313.3 ([M+H]+).
