To a solution of methyl 1-(3-fluorophenyl)-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridine-4-carboxylate 89-2 (50 mg, 0.202 mmol) in water (0.5 mL) and methanol (0.5 mL) was added LiOH (20 mg, 0.835 mmol).
