To a mixture of ethyl (3,4,5-trifluoro-2-hydroxyphenyl)acetate (1.77 g) in ethanol (15 mL) was added sodium ethoxide (0.514 g) at room temperature under a nitrogen atmosphere, and the mixture was stirred for 30 min. To the reaction mixture was added ethyl 8-chloro-3-[3-methoxy-4-(2-methyl-1,3-oxazol-5-yl)phenyl]-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine-8-carboxylate (3 g), the mixture was stirred at 80° C. overnight under a nitrogen atmosphere, and diluted with saturated aqueous ammonium chloride solution, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was separated, washed with saturated brine, and dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate/hexane) to give the title compound (2 g).
