Procedure
To the solution of 6-(4-Methyl-pyridin-3-yl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-[1,8]naphthyridine (50 mg, 0.22 mmol) in 5.0 mL of anhydrous DCM is added benzoyl isocyanate (39 mg, 0.24 mmol) and the solution is heated to reflux for 3 hrs. Then the solvent is removed in vacuo and to the residue is added 5.0 mL of EtOH. Then K2CO3 (61 mg, 44 mmol) is added and the mixture is heated to reflux for 5 hrs. After cooling down to room temperature, the solid is filtered off. The filtrate is evaporated to dryness. The residue is dissolved in DCM, washed with water and brine. The organic layer is separated, dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated. The crude product is purified by preparative HPLC to give 14 mg of the titled product.
