To a mixture of 2,3-dichloropyrido[3,4-b]pyrazine (8 g, 40.0 mmol) and 1-(2,4-difluorobenzyl)piperazine (8.49 g, 40.0 mmol) in DCM (100 mL) was added triethylamine (16.72 mL, 120 mmol) at room temperature. Then the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 0.5 h. The reaction mixture was diluted with 30 mL of DCM, washed with brine twice, dried over anhydrous Na2SO4 and concentrated. The residue was purified by silica gel chromatography, eluting with a gradient of 50:1 to 5:1 PE:EtOAc to give the title compound (12 g, 80%). ESI-MS m/z [M+H]+ 376.0.
