Procedure
A solution of 10-(3-chloropropyl)-2-(trifluoromethyl)-10H-phenothiazine was mixed with acetone (50 mL) and NaI (4.0 g, 26 mmol) and heated at 55° C. for 48 h. Once no starting material was observed by analytical LCMS, the reaction mixture was partitioned between CH2Cl2 (100 mL) and an aqueous solution of Na2S2O3 (20 ml). The organic layer is dried with MgSO4 and concentrated to afford the title compound.
