Procedure
In a nitrogen atmosphere, a mixture of 112 g of 2-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)ethanol, synthesized in Synthesis Example 1, and 122 g of acetic anhydride was stirred at room temperature for 16 hours. The reaction mixture was subjected to conventional aqueous work-up and then purified by vacuum distillation, obtaining 131 g of 2-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)ethyl acetate (boiling point 102° C./27 Pa, yield 85%).
Workup
- distillationpurified by vacuum distillation
