To a solution of methanesulfonyl chloride (7.7 ml) in dichloromethane (100 ml) was added dropwise tert-butylamine (23.1 ml) at 0° C., and the mixture was stirred for 5 minutes. Subsequently, the mixture was filtered and the filtrate was washed with 1 N hydrochloric acid (100 ml), dried with magnesium sulfate, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. This gave the product (14.7 g) with a molecular weight of 151.3 g/mol (C5H13NO2S).
