A solution of 259A (900 mg, 3.3 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (20 mL) was treated with triethylamine (0.64 mL, 4.62 mmol) and allylchloroformate (0.35 mL, 3.96 mmol) at room temperature. The mixture was stirred for four hours, then washed with 0.1 N HCl (2×10 mL), 1N NaOH (2×10 mL) and brine (10 mL). The organic layer was dried (Na2SO4), filtered and concentrated in vacuo to give 680 mg (yield: 58%) of Compound 259B as an oil.
