Methyl 7-bromo-3-oxo-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrido[3,2-b][1,4]thiazine-6-carboxylate (Example 304b) (1.50 g, 4.95 mmol), tetramethyltin (1.71 mL, 12 mmol) and bis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(II) chloride (0.84 g, 1.2 mmol) in dimethylformamide (30 mL) were heated at 120° C. for 24 h. The mixture was filtered through Kieselguhr, washed through with ethyl acetate and evaporated. Chromatography on silica gel (10-50% ethyl acetate/petroleum ether) gave the title compound (1.0 g, 85%).
