2-Chloro-5,11-dihydro-11-ethyl-8-iodo-5-methyl-6H-dipyrido[3,2-b:2',3'-e][1,4]diazepin-6-one (prepared by procedures analogous to those described in Example 1a-g) (0.5 g, 1.2 mmol) was coupled with 4-vinylpyridine in the presence of bis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(II) chloride and triethylamine as described in example 1h to give 0.28 g of the title compound as brown crystals, m.p. 150°-152° C.
