In a manner analogous to the procedure described for Example 23, 8-[2-(3-aminophenyl)ethyl]-2-chloro-5,11-dihydro-11-ethyl-5-methyl-6H-dipyrido[3,2-b:2',3'-e][1,4]diazepin-6-one (0.15 g, 0.37 mmol) was diazotized and treated with sodium iodide to provide 9 mg of the pure product, m.p. 143°-145° C. (petroleum ether).
