Reaction Steps

1.3 ml of cyclohexylamine are added to 0.4 g of a mixture of 4-[(3-methylphenyl)amino]-6-methylsulphinyl-pyrimido[5,4-d]pyrimidine and 4-[(3-methylphenyl)amino]-6-methylsulphonylpyrimido[5,4-d]pyrimidine in 10 ml of dioxane and the mixture is stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction mixture is evaporated, water is added to the residue and the solid is filtered off with suction. The crude product is purified by chromatography over a silica gel column with petroleum ether/ethyl acetate (2:1).
