Procedure

5 g of 4-fluoro-3-trifluoromethylbenzoic acid and 9 ml of SOCl2 are stirred at 60° C. for 8 h in 50 ml of MeOH. The volatile constituents are then removed in vacuo and 5.1 g of a colorless oil are obtained, which is further employed without purification. Rf (EA/MeOH 10:1)=0.74 MS (DCl) 223 (M+H)+
