Procedure
A solution of 4-(3-(3-(2-quinolinylmethyloxy)phenyl)-1-oxo-2-propen-1-yl)phenol (0.008 mol) in ethyl acetate (150 ml) is shaken under 50 psi of hydrogen gas in the presence of 10% palladium on carbon catalyst (1.0 g). The reaction mixture is filtered through a celite pad and evaporated to give 4-(3(3-(2-quinolinylmethyloxy)phenyl)propyl)phenol.
