4-(5-Hydroxymethyl-3-trifluoromethyl-pyridin-2-yl)-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester from step (d) above (1.08 g, 3.0 mmol) reacted with TFA (10 mL, Aldrich) under the conditions of Example 183 g to give the title compound as a white solid. MS (ESI, pos. ion) m/e: 262 (M+1).
