Reaction Steps

1-(3-{2-[4-(2-Methyl-5-quinolinyl)-1-piperazinyl]ethyl}phenyl)-2-imidazolidinone (300 mg, 1 wt) is suspended in methanol (6.0 ml, 20 vol) at room temperature under nitrogen. A solution of sulfuric acid (71 mg, 1 eq) in methanol is dosed. The clear solution is seeded and solid crystallization is observed. The slurry is stirred 16 hrs at room temperature. The solid is filtered and dried at room temperature under vacuum to give the desired salt.
