To a solution of 2-(4-bromophenyl)ethanamine (600 mg, 3.13 mmol) and TEA (800 mg, 8 mmol) in THF (10 mL), was added a solution of 3-cyano-benzenesulfonyl chloride (580 mg, 2.88 mmol) in THF (10 mL) at 0° C. The mixture was stirred at rt for 2 h, quenched with water, and extracted with EtOAc (3×20 mL). The organic layer washed with brine, dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated. Purification via flash chromatography (0-50% EtOAc in hexanes) gives 68A (708 mg, 71%). MS (ESI) m/z 365.3 (M+H)+.
