A suspension of ethyl 4-amino-5-{4-[(tert-butoxycarbonyl)amino]-3-fluorophenyl}pyrrolo[2,1-f][1,2,4]triazine-6-carboxylate (400 mg, 0.963 mmol) in 4 N HCl in dioxane (9.63 mL, 38.5 mmol) was heated to 60° C. for 5 min, then cooled to rt and diluted with 40 mL ether. Filtration through a teflon membrane filter gave the title compound as a yellow solid (310 mg, 91.5% yield). 1H-NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 8.33 (s, 1H), 8.14 (s, 1H), 7.16 (d, J=12 Hz, 1H), 6.96 to 7.03 (m, 2H), 4.13 (q, J=8 Hz, 2H), 1.15 (t, J=8 Hz, 3H); MS [M+H]+=316.1; LCMS RT=2.39.
