1,2-dihydro-3-(1-imidazolyl)-6-methoxy-naphthalene was treated with a stoichiometric amount of hydrogen chloride, to give 1,2-dihydro-3-(1-imidazolyl)-6-methoxy-naphthalene hydrochloride, m.p. 70°-72° C.
