To a solution of the product of step b) (3.81 g) in THF (50 ml) and methanol (5 ml) was added 1N NaOH (25.7 ml) and the mixture stirred under nitrogen for 18 hr. It was acidified with 2.5N HCl and extracted with DCM, the organic extracts washed with water, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, filtered and evaporated under reduced pressure to give the sub-title compound as a solid (3.40 g)
