Add TFA (5.37 g, 47.1 mmol) to a suspension of [5-(5-carbamoyl-pyridin-2-yloxy)-indan-2-yl]-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (870 mg, 2.35 mmol) in DCM (30 ml) and stir at ambient temperature overnight. Concentrate mixture on rotary evaporator and purify on cation exchange column (5 g, Varian) to give the title compound (479 mg) as a white solid. Mass spectrum (ion spray): m/z=270 (M+1); 1HNMR (MeOH-d4): 8.61 (s, 1H), 8.22 (d, 1H), 7.24 (d, 1H), 6.98 (s, 1H), 6.94 (d, 1H), 6.90 (d, 1H), 3.80 (m, 1H), 3.18 (m, 2H), 2.72 (m, 2H).
