To a solution of 2-[5-chloro-1-(p-tolylsulfonyl)pyrrolo[5,4-b]pyridin-3-yl]-5-fluoro-N-[(3S)-3-piperidyl]pyrimidin-4-amine, 1c, (0.20 g, 0.40 mmol) in ethanol was added 2-(methoxymethyl)oxirane (0.04 mL, 0.40 mmol). The reaction mixture was heated in a microwave reactor at 140° C. for 5 minutes. The reaction was evaporated to dryness and the resulting residue was purified via silica gel chromatography (0-10% MeOH: CH2Cl2) to afford the desired product (1d).
