2,4-Bis-(methylsulfonyl)-5-(4-chlorophenyl)-6-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)pyrimidine from Reference Example 5 (500 mg, 1.02 mmol) was reacted with 1.1 equivalents each of sodium hydride (60% in oil, 45 mg, 1.12 mmol) and 4-hydroxy-pyridine (106.4 mg, 1.12 mmol) by the general procedure described in Example 16 to afford the title compound: 1H-NMR 400 MHz (CDCl3): δ 6.38 (d, J=8 Hz, 2H), 7.17-7.21 (m, 4H), 7.25-7.31 (m, 4H), 7.42 (d, J=2 Hz, 1H), 8.53 (d, J=8 Hz, 2H), 8.75 (d, J=5 Hz, 2H).
