In a manner similar to the preparation of N2,N4-bis(3-hydroxyphenyl)-5-fluoro-2,4-pyrimidinediamine, 2,4-dichloro-5-fluoropyrimidine and furfurylamine were reacted to yield N2,N4-bis(furfuryl)-5-fluoro-2,4-pyrimidinediamine. 1H NMR (CDCl3): δ 7.72 (bs, 1H), 7.38 (dd, 2H, J=1.8 and 7.5 Hz), 6.34-6.30 (m, 2H), 6.22 (dd, 2H, J=2.4 and 9.9 Hz), 5.163 (bs, 2H), 4.63 (d, 2H, J=6.0), 4.54 (d, 2H, J=6.0); 19F NMR (CDCl3): −48621; LCMS: ret. time: 97.27 min.; purity: 97%; MS (m/e): 289 (MH+).
