A mixture of 2-aminothiazole (1.0 g, 10 mmol) and 1-bromo-3-methoxypropane (1.8 g, 12 mmol) were heated at 85° C. for 16 hours. The solid was cooled to ambient temperature, triturated with ethanol, and then collected by filtration to provide 1.2 g (48%) of the title compound. MS (DCI/NH3) m/z 173 (M+H)+.
