A mixture of 2-aminothiazole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (17.2 g, 100 mmol) and 2-bromoethyl methyl ether (15.3 g, 110 mmol) were processed using the method described in Example 2A to afford 17.1 g (83%) of the title compound. 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ ppm 1.30 (t, J=7 Hz, 3H) 3.22 (s, 3H) 3.60 (t, J=5 Hz, 2H) 4.32 (t, J=7 Hz, 2H) 4.35-4.61 (m, 2H), 7.84 (s, 1H), 9.76 (s, 1H); MS (DCI/NH3) m/z 231 (M+H)+.
