To a solution of Example 384A (1.223 g, 2.046 mmol) in dichloromethane (5 mL) was added 2,2,2-trifluoroacetic acid (2.333 g, 20.46 mmol). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hr and then concentrated. The mixture was taken up in dichloromethane and washed with sodium bicarbonate. The organic layers were combined, dried and concentrated to give the title compound (0.92 g, 90%). 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ ppm 1.37 (s, 9H) 1.58-1.72 (m, 1H) 1.79-1.94 (m, 2H) 2.01-2.15 (m, 3H) 2.96-3.06 (m, 2H) 3.23-3.34 (m, 2H) 3.74-3.89 (m, 2H) 4.14-4.21 (m, 1H) 4.24-4.32 (m, 1H) 4.39-4.46 (m, 1H) 4.97-5.03 (m, 1H) 6.88 (s, 1H) 7.05 (d, J=8.73 Hz, 1H) 7.60 (dd, J=8.72, 2.38 Hz, 1H) 8.17 (d, J=2.38 Hz, 1H); MS (DCI/NH3) m/z 498 (M+H)+.
