TFA (25 mL, 324 mmol) was added to a solution of 1,1-dimethylethyl [(1S,2E)-4-(2,3-dihydro-1H-indol-1-yl)-1-ethyl-4-oxo-2-buten-1-yl]carbamate (7.21 g, 21.82 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (25 mL). The reaction was stirred at RT. After 3.5 h, CH2Cl2 (200 mL) was added, and the reaction was concentrated under reduced pressure and dried under high vacuum. LC-MS m/z 231 (M+H)+, 0.69 (ret time).
