To a mixture of N-(3-ethyl-1-((6-formylpyridin-2-yl)methyl)-1H-indazol-4-yl)imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-3-carboxamide (20 mg, 0.0471 mmol) and sodium triacetoxyborohydride (49.9 mg, 0.236 mmol) in a 1:1 mixture of dichloromethane/methanol (1 mL) was added tert-butyl piperazine-1-carboxylate (10.5 mg, 0.0565 mmol). The mixture was stirred for 30 minutes at ambient temperature. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure and the residue was purified using preparative thin layer chromatography on silica, eluting with 12% methanol and 0.5% ammonium hydroxide in dichloromethane to give the desired product (12.6 mg).
