1-[2-(4′-{2-[1-(2-Methoxycarbonylamino-3-methyl-butyryl)-pyrrolidin-2-yl]-1H-imidazol-4-yl}-biphenyl-4-yl)-2-oxo-ethylcarbamoyl]-1,3-dihydro-isoindole-2-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (147.8 mg) was taken into m-xylenes (2.0 mL) and heated at 135° C. Solid ammonium acetate (120 mg, 1.5 mmol) was added and the reaction was stirred at 135° C. After 180 minutes, the reaction was cooled to room temperature and the volatiles were removed in vacuo. The crude reaction product was partitioned between EtOAc and water. The organic layer was collected and dried over sodium sulfate. Filtration and evaporation of solvents gave the crude product (142 mg).
