Using the same reaction conditions as in Example 14, 1-benzothiazol-6-yl-imidazolidin-2-one (I-84b: 588.7 mg, 2.688 mmol) was reacted with 3-bromo-pyridine-4-carbaldehyde (500 mg, 2.688 mmol), 1,4-dioxane (10 mL), copper iodide (51.2 mg, 0.2688 mmol), trans-1,2-diamino cyclohexane (92.33 mg, 0.8064 mmol) and potassium phosphate (1.711 g, 8.064 mmol) to afford the crude product. Purification by column chromatography on silica gel (2% MeOH in CHCl3) afforded 250 mg of 3-(3-Benzothiazol-6-yl-2-oxo-imidazolidin-1-yl)-pyridine-4-carbaldehyde (28.9% yield).
