1-Benzothiazol-6-yl-imidazolidin-2-one (I-84b: 0.25 g, 1.1 mmol) was reacted with 3-bromo-isonicotinic acid ethyl ester (0.28 g, 1.2 mmol), 1,4-dioxane (30 mL), copper iodide (0.065 g, 0.3 mmol), trans N,N′-dimethyl-cyclohexane-1,2-diamine (0.048 g, 0.3 mmol) and potassium phosphate (0.81 g, 2.8 mmol) to afford the crude product. Purification by column chromatography on silica gel (100% CHCl3) afforded 160 mg of the product (38.2% yield).
