A mixture of 7-isobutyl-5-methyl-3-(phenylamino)-2-(4-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)benzyl)-2H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine-4,6(5H,7H)-dione (41 mg, 0.077 mmol), 2-bromo-4,6-dimethylpyridine (14.3 mg, 0.077), tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) (3 mg), and 1M NaHCO3 aqueous solution (116 uL) in dioxane (350 μL) was heated at 100° C. for 4 hours, and then cooled to room temperature. The mixture was filtered through a 0.45 μm microfilter, and then purified by a semi-preparative HPLC to give pure product as a white powder. MS (ESI) m/z 509.2 [M+H]+
