To a solution of 4-[4-[6-(4-Hydroxy-phenyl)-3-{(E)-2-[4-(piperidine-1-carbonyl)phenyl]-vinyl}-1-(tetrahydro-pyran-2-yl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine-4-carbonyl]-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (0.25 g, 0.35 mmol) in methanol (5 ml) was added 4N HCl in dioxane (0.9 ml). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 18 hours, diethyl ether was then added, the resulting precipitated was filtered and washed once with diethyl ether to afford the hydrochloride salt of the title compound (0.175 g, 82%) as an orange solid.
