To a solution of 4-[6-(4-Hydroxy-phenyl)-3-[(E)-2-(2-methyl-3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-isoindol-5-yl)-vinyl]-1-(tetrahydro-pyran-2-yl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine-4-carbonyl]-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (0.19 g, 0.28 mmol) in methanol (4 ml) was added 4N HCl in dioxane (0.7 ml). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 3 days, diethyl ether was then added, the resulting precipitated was filtered and washed once with diethyl ether to afford the hydrochloride salt of the title compound (0.15 g, 96%) as an orange solid.
