In a flame dried round-bottomed flask equipped with a magnetic stir bar and under inert atmosphere (N2), a solution of (2-((4-nitro-2H-1,2,3-triazol-2-yl)methyl)thiazol-4-yl)methanol (672 mg, 2.79 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (15.0 mL) was added to a suspension of Ag2O (968 mg, 4.18 mmol) and MeI (0.52 mL, 8.36 mmol). The resulting mixture (protected form light) was stirred overnight at 40° C. The reaction mixture was filtered and the solvent was removed under reduced pressure. Purification of the residue by FC (6:4 hept-EA) gave the title compound as a yellow oil. LC-MS-conditions 07: tR=0.66 min, [M+H]+=226.27.
