A solution of 6-chloro-4-(2-furyl)-1-(2-phenylethyl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine (162 mg, 0.5 mmol) in NMP (1 mL) was treated with ethanolamine (60 μL, 1 mmol), heated at 100° C. for 16 h, cooled and purified by chromatography (EtOAc:Heptane, 2:1). The resulting colourless oil was crystallised (MeOH/water) and filtered to give the title compound (100 mg, 57%) as a white solid.
