A mixture of C-[3-(3-fluoro-phenyl)-5-methyl-isoxazol-4-yl]-methylamine (530 mg, 2.6 mmol), methyl 6-chloronicotinate (440 mg, 2.6 mmol), N,N-diisopropyl ethyl amine (880 μL, 5.1 mmol) and DMSO (5.1 mL) was heated in the microwave to 160° C. for 2×0.5 h and 1 h. The mixture was then diluted with ice-water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined organic extracts were then washed with brine and dried over sodium sulfate. Concentration and purification by chromatography (SiO2, heptane:ethyl acetate=100:0 to 1:1) afforded the title compound (335 mg, 38%) as a yellow gum. MS: m/e=342.1 [M+H]+.
