A solution of 3-(4-((5-(2-(4-chloro-3-methoxyphenyl)propan-2-yl)-1-(4-fluorophenyl)-1H-imidazol-2-ylthio)methyl)-3,5-difluorophenyl)prop-2-yn-1-ol (714 mg, 1.28 mmol) in MeOH (75 mL) was sparged with argon, charged with PtO2 (30 wt %, 214 mg) and then pressurized to 65 psi under hydrogen atmosphere in a Parr shaker for 36 h. The reaction was monitored by LCMS and upon completion the mixture was filtered through Celite™ to remove the catalyst. The filtrate was concentrated and purified by flash chromatography (80% EtOAc/hexanes) to yield the title compound (560 mg, 0.99 mmol). MS (EI) m/z 561 (MH+).
