A mixture of the compound obtained from step d above (1 g), 2-methoxy-5-pyridine boronic acid (0.614 g), tetrakistriphenylphosphinepalladium (0) (0.115 g), and potassium carbonate (0.832 g) was dried under high vacuum for 10 minutes, and dry dimethylformamide (8 mL) was added at room temperature. The reaction mixture was heated at 120° C. for 2 hours, and then quenched with water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with water and brine solution, and dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure to obtain a residue which was purified by column chromatography over silica gel using 30% ethyl acetate in hexane as eluant to afford the title compound (0.62 g).
