Procedure

Bis-trans-2-phenyl-cyclopropanecarbonyl benzimidazole was prepared by method C from 2-(4-aminophenyl)-6-amino-benzimidazole (0.500 g, 2.23 mmole) and trans-2-phenyl-1-cyclopropanecarbonyl chloride (0.831 ml, 0.966 g, 5.35 mmole). The resulting solid was purified on silica gel (5% MeOH in CH2Cl2). HPLC showed the product was 95.5% pure.
